I'm always on the lookout for awesome resources - and I bet you are, too! So, here are four that I'm loving right now!
(By the way...these are NOT paid endorsements! I only recommend resources that I think are truly awesome and worthy of your attention! Tips are appreciated though. JK...no tips either!)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Junior Bear Books By: Brad Klassen
I met the author, Brad Klassen, at the Awesome KidMin Conference in Canada, last month. After flipping through his books, I knew I HAD to get these for my nephew, Rowan!
These books would be an awesome addition to your preschool and early elementary bookshelves. Or recommend them to the parents in your ministry. Each of the "Junior Bear" books has a fun little story with BIG Biblical truth.
What really sets them apart is that they serve as allegories for stories from the Bible. "The Greatest Gift" helps kids learn the story of the poor widow while the "The Kite Festival" helps them learn the story of the 10 lepers.
Also, the illustrations are incredible! Cover to cover, so well done!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Kids Church Party Music l By: Sheik Mozart
If you've been using GO! Curriculum for long enough, you've seen some of Sheik's work before. He's done some graphic design for us in the past like with the "Space Ninjas vs. Pirate Squirrels" unit.
More than that, though, Sheik is also a Kids Pastor turned lyrical genius who just released a short album of kid's church party music. It's got some awesomely old school 80's rap vibes. Sort of like if the Beastie Boys met Jesus on the road to Damascus.
I have all 4 songs on repeat, but my favorite is HeeHaw I'm a Donkey, with Resurrected being a close 2nd. Best of all, both songs make for awesome Easter jams! You can check it out on Spotify, Amazon Music, or most other streaming services. Or get the lyric videos here.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ C.I.A. l Christ in Action Boys Club
No--this isn't a covert government agency. (Not that I'm aware of, anyway.) Christ in Action is dedicated to helping boys connect deeper with God, to learn and understand the gospel and to grow into men who live out their lives in passionate response to the Good News.
If you're familiar with the "GEMS Girls Club," this is something like the boys equivalent of that.
It's a fun, energetic and often LOUD boys club that includes a large group devotional, small group lesson, and a time for games that will challenge the boys athletically while teaching them the fruit of the spirit.
Adam Sculnick is the Executive Director and an awesome guy. If you're ever at one of the big KidMin conferences, come find him and learn more about this incredible program!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Topher Time l By: GO! Curriculum
Alright, this one's a little self-serving, but it really is one of my favorite things! In case you missed it, we recently announced that GO! Curriculum has begun filming a brand new show for preschoolers called "Topher Time!"
WAHOOO!!!
Together, our friends Topher the Gopher and Timmy Bow Ties will be helping preschoolers learn how to love and follow Jesus through this all new, super-fun and interactive video series.
"Topher Time" follows the GO! preschool lessons and will launch in time for the start of the 23-24 Scope and Sequence, which begins in August. Stay tuned for more info and sneak peaks of the God-soaked fun coming your way!
